VideoMate TV Gold Trouble

Hi, I just bought a VideoMate TV Gold plus 2 ( a PCI card ) and I'm having real trouble getting it to display channels. It's all set up, and the card has its own IRQ number. I've reinstalled the drivers and software from the disc, as well as the drivers and software from the website. No matter what I do, I cannot tune into any channels : not BBC 1, not BBC 2 - nothing. All I get is a black screen, and that static noise. The TV aerial works fine, so at the moment I am stumped.

It would be muchly appreciated if someone could shed some light on this issue.
