I'd suggest trying each stick in each memory slot. That should help you discover whether there is a faulty slot and/or stick.

Turns out that my board only supports 1, 2 and 4 sticks. if i put 3 in, the board tries to write to the first and third stick looking at them as if they are 2 banks paired.

If i put a stick in Bank A1 and Bank B1 it will report that i have the correct memory in there

2 256 sticks next to each other WILL Report back as 512, However if the 512 and the 256 are put in bank one it will come back as either 512 or 256, depending on which stick is in A1.

Not ver y well explained but these are my findings. It appears that i will need 2 512 sticks in Bannk A1 and A2 and 2 256 Sticks in Bank B1 and B2.
