When you pay the cheque into the account, wait a few days, and make sure it has certainly clear, i.e. give it 2 days after it is shown as cleared funds on your account to be sure. And ring up your bank to confirm this.

It is better to be safer than sorry.

Don't feel intimidated or that there is any need to rush. You will send it when you are ready, the worst you could get is some negative feedback, but that aint that bad, in comparison to losing £215.

I think someone may have mentioned, why not ring up the school or whatever and cross check details just to make sure the person actually lives there.

Be cautious and take your time. Make sure the cheque actually clears before sending it off etc, and double check with your bank when paying it in.

Nooooo....send it Special Delivery or insured parcels. Recorded only covers you up to £30 if it goes missing.

Good advice and thats what i ment really. Get a signature and insurance. It's an extra £1 for (i think) insurance upto £200 with recorded but special delivery would be the way to go. I use it quite a lot and when you get to a certain weight and insurance requirement level, special delivery works out about the same or cheaper (quicker too).

I've asked people on ebay to send stuff to my work address before. I'm positive it's legit. I think if you email them back, apologising for being paranoid, but you want to make sure that it's the correct address then it should be fine. I mean, if it was a scammer, I really doubt they'd get it sent to a school!

Paypal payments can be clawed back via credit cards too.
