Motorola v980 subsidy code HELP!!!!

I’ve bought a brand new Motorola v980 from my mate, when I go to put my o2 Simcard in the Vodafone locked phone it asks me for a subsidy code which I have not got a clue what it means HELP PLZ!!!

I’ve searched Google but it says you have to pay a small fee of $35, I was just wondering if any of you have an idea where I can get a free code to unlock my Motorola v980.

You will have to pay 99% of the time or buy a specialist dongle.

The codes are generated from a central database which you buy a minimum of 10 "access passes" at a time and they are time limited.
