no nic found server03 install on HP dx2420

Hi all,
As the title states. I have installed Server 2003 on a Hp dx2420 pc. It was delivered with Vista downgraded to XP. Using it in a school and wanted to set this up as a file server.

However Server 2003 failed to recognise all the components including the nic. A Google search didnt help and the HP site doesnt offer Server 2003 support for this product and the XP support does not include a driver for the nic.
Nic is integrated. Any ideas?

Hi,
You say it was delivered downgraded to XP, did the network card work then?
If so, then the XP drivers will work fine with server 2003. If not, then I think network chipset is a realtek one in which case one of the drivers here might be suitable.

We bought a pci card and installed the drivers that came with that so we are up and running.

Wil try and get the xp driver to see if I can get the onboard nic working. HP dont have lan drivers on their site for the pc though.

Common problem, methinx. Home Server is pretty crap for network drivers too, have to get the mobo disc out.
