    Oh dear... Virus?

Well hummmphhhh, third time big computer crash in it's life of about 2 months now.

This time, was casually browsing internet, and everything stopped to an extent. The mouse still moved around the screen, appearing to be normal, but nothing responded, as in the icons weren't clickable, the start bar wouldn't come up, etc...

So naturally, restart, can't get into Windows. HUMPH, Gives me a message straight when the Windows XP logo appears (before we get a blue screen) to say that something is wrong with ISASS.exe.

I think from brief googling, that this is a virus, as I fortunately have another bootable XP partition on the same pair of RAID drives, which when booting into seems to work. It did however freeze up after about 10 mins, and I have rebooted back in fine.

Anybody know how to get that partition working again without being able to boot into it? Or am I going to need to wipe it? At least I'm able to get my files off it!

    Urmmm think again.

Every time I reinstall windows, at some point I get slightly different error messages. It's very random, and right now I'm getting something that implys there that there is a hardware problem.

Is it possible, that somehow... my motherboard has nuked itself? And that the Raid driver has gone dead or something similar?

I will now try installing windows onto each raptor seperately and see if that reveals there to be a problem with either of them.

EDIT1: Raptor 1 - XP Installed and working
EDIT2: Raptor 2 - XP Installed and working

WHY! Dead RAID chipset on mobo possibly?

EDIT3: Well I am now in Windows on the RAIDed drives again. Jeesh these things waste so much of our time! (computers that is!!!). But hopefullly we're good now.
