    Raid 0 with maxtor 6Y16OMO and 6L160MO its ok?

    HI i want your help!!!.I have a maxtor diamondmax 9 6Y160MO (160GB sata150 8mb cache) and today i bought another drive to make a RAID O.But the new drive is diamondmax 10 6L160MO (160GB sata150 8mb cache).What do you think, they will work together?The preformance will be as good as 2X6Y160MO? or i sould try to return the new drive.My mobo is msi865pe neo 2 p sieres.Thank you

    Hvae a close look at the controller board for one - I'd say inside the drive there wouldn't be alot telling them apart.Have a look at the cahe chip and the main bridge - if they closely resemble each other or match in terms of model number and make, you shouldn't have a problem. You could always e-mail Maxtor if you have doubts.

    Should be fine.. they will definately work together in raid 0, but theres no harm in running hdtach to see if there's any impact on performance

    This will be no problem. You are looking at quite a usable combo - I have a couple of the older 160s on an NVRAID 0 and cant complain at all

    BTW should you ever wanna swap a new one for old, perhaps we can come to some arrangement!
