    PC No Work

    HELP ME!

I was trying to fix a fan problem on my parents old Dell (which i did, i then turn to reeboot and it sounds good (and i can tell ins booted into the OS cause when trying to switch the power off the button needs to be held.

I have reseated the GPU with no luck, i was also doing a bit of air dusting so mabe i damaged something? Or mabe static? I touched the unpainted metal of the case and radiator first. I have tryed on my monitor and i get the same result.

I cannot find any cmos to re set, but have tryed re seating to better, with no sucess.

    thanks

You'd have to give some more details about what is happening when you try to turn the machine on - is it doing nothing, is the fan starting, LEDs coming on, nothing more, is it bleeping at you, etc?

With some more details someone can possibly have some idea as to at what point its failing.

No bleeps, (it has an in built speaker) and as i said in my first post, i think it is booting into the OS, Fans are spinning.

So it turns on and powers up, but there is nothing displayed on the screen? Obvious thing to do if you have one is to try a different graphics card and monitor.

What do you mean by reseating the GPU, do you mean taking out the graphics card and putting it back in?

To confirm the speaker works, take out the RAM and it should beep.

Perhaps some details on the spec of the PC would help.
