No Spell Check in Outlook Express

complete clean installation of win Xp home with SP2. but there is no spell check in outlook express.?

I have installed microsoft works so it has a full word dictionary but does not help

I have followed the various fixes online to add the CSAPI3T1.DLL. which is always there anyway but still no joy

under tools/options/ there is never a spelling tab to be seen?

    any help?

It depends what format you are doing your e-mail in, I believe if you look under TOOLS, OPTIONS, MAIL FORMAT there's the option to change from HTML to Rich Text...... think you need to change it from HTML before office can apply the spell check to it.

If you've got Word or Works installed then it does have a spell checker

    5cupa: Have you checked this?
Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools. In the right pane where it reads: SharedFilesDir, verify that it reads: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared.
