128mb GeForce 6800le AGP

Hi,

I've got a 128mb AGP 6800le and when I boot my PC, the card appears to work ok, it displays windows fine. However, when i try to load a game, or something like 3D Mark, the monitor switches off, and the PC crashes.

Does anyone have any ideas on what is wrong? Is my card fubared?

Possible drive issue........have you installed the latest drivers?

Also could be overheating - these cards are susceptable to overheating problems. Make sure you ahve adequate cooling on the gpu.

Also make sure you have at least a 350w power supply.

1) Switch off AUTOMATIC RESTART for fatal errors in Windows.
2) Try running 3dmark again, if it crashes and you receive a blue screen with an error warning, then write this down and post it up here or research it on the net.
3) If there is no blue screen with an error warning then it is unlikely to be driver orientated and may be a hardware problem which would require methodical elimination.
