I've come accross an interesting problem that i'm struggling to solve..Here is an attempt to explain what i am doing, whats going wrong and what i think i have worked out so far:
I have my telewest stb plugged into the back of my pc via the optical output, to the optical input of my abit ax8 motherboard. (I am only trying to capture sound, not picture)
I am then trying to record that feed using foobar, here is where the problem arises...if i record for 2minutes give or take, the resulting track is 2minutes 10sec (give or take) - this obviously means slow playback. I can however play the track reasonably ok directly from the record:// feed, it doesn't slow down, it just crackles.
The crackles and the slow down lead me to think it was a sampling problem. I think the stb is outputting at 48kHz while the soundcard thinks it is 44.1kHz, this difference ties in approximately with the different track lengths.
So, my question is...does anyone have any clue how to force the soundcard to treat the sound as if its 48kHz, or get foobar to treat a 44.1kHz signal as if its 48kHz
any suggestions welcome, TIA
