    5x Multiplyer?!

    Hey
I started trying to overclock my amd 64 3700+...windows read's that the chips running at 2.31Ghz..but programs like cpu-z and others report it's running aroun 1Ghz. It's saying that it's running a multiplyer of 5x...i thought a64's were lokced at 11x.
Any help would be great thank you.

Thats your HT running at 1Ghz with a 5x multi. Knock the HT down to 3x in the bios then you can start Clocking it, it won't go far left at 5x. Drop the cpu multi down to 9 then raise the HT from 200 upwards and you should get some good results. You'll likely need to set a ram divider as well

    MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum.... it's a nForce2 based board... got a modded bios on it, currently running at 275 x 9 = 2475MHz prime stable

Might see if I can get a bit more tommorow
