    Help with partition

Hope you can please help me with these 2 Qs!

i have 2 HD's both NFTS my OS (XP Home)is on a (C)120gb and my (G)200GB is used formy Video Editing/Capturing and back ups of Nero backitup. Now is it possible for me to install a 2nd OS (XP Pro) on the (G)200GB and still have XP home on the 120GB? If i can would it be easy to do
..And if the above is not possible can i just move the xp home partition to the G driv(200gb) as to save doing a clean install? Sorry if its confusing

Ps i do have Partition Magic already installed!

I think i saw what your meaning....

All you need to do is repartition the G drive and install the other OS on that section. It's an easy process!

However if it was me i'd keep it tidy and split the C drive 60GB/60GB and install both on there.

you should be able to use Partition Magic to resize your C drive to 60gig. This will leave you with 60gig of 'unallocated space'

make sure that you do this first and reboot before doing the next steps, to minimise the chance of problems happening

Then you can create a new, logical partition in that unallocated space. partition magic should automatically create an extended partition around it so you dont't have to worry about that.

Then when thats done and you have rebooted, boot off the XP Pro CD and choose the new partition to install to. Windows will automatically provide you with a bootloader to choose between the versions

You can also install both copies of windows on the same partition since one is pro, it would just install itself in c:/winnt instead of c:/windows, but you should only do this if you know what you are doing. Infact partitioning is even more dangerous, because even if you know what you are doing and have done partitioning hundreds of times before, things can still go horribly wrong (see my post further down)

so be VERY CAREFUL with your partitioning, do it in small steps and dont make more partitions than you need Also its a good idea to backup any important data before you do it, just in case.
