Dell - Time to lay the smack down?

I bought an E196FP 19" tft monitor from the Dell website when it was £131 inc delivery. It was a price error but I thought I would go for it anyway.

I placed the order on thu 10/11 and got the usual confirmation etc.

On the next day I got the pdf terms and conditions etc stating that I had bought a 17" CRT. That obviously wasn't the case so I called them up. The Irish guy I spoke to told me my order had been cancelled and there was nothing I could do to change it and that I would be refunded asap.

By the sunday nothing had changed so I email customer services and asked them what the story was. I eventually got a reply on tuesday saying that something had gone wrong with my order and a dell representative would be in contact asap to sort it out.

I heard nothing at all so this thursday past I phoned dell up and was told my order was delayed/cancelled and that they had no record of me ordering a 19" tft. I said ok I give up I just want my money back.

However apparently Dell don't charge until they dispatch so they dont think they have charged me anything. Why do I then have a charge of £131 to Dell on fri 11/11 (day after the order was placed) on my bank statement? I raised it with their finance department and they said they would call me back asap.

I got an email on fri 25/11 saying it was being looked into.

I feel I have been consistently lied and ignored by Dell and am doubting whether I will actually get my money back. Just to clarify I have recieved no products or items at all from Dell. If I don't hear back by the middle of next week what do you think I should do?

    Thanks.

Contact traiding standards, they will be able to give good free advice and possibly make a couple of helpful calls too.

Is it on a credit card (not debit), if so, make sure you inform them.

I'm a student so no credit card for me, it was by switch.

They said to send dell a letter detailing it all by recorded delivery. If they don't produce the goods or refund me in 14 days then Trading standards will get involved.
