    downloads not completing

i'm having a major problem here in that i cannot get any download to complete (http). At random times it just keep freezing and never moving; any help would be apreciated.

    So far i have:

removed all spy ware with adaware and spybot (they never came up with anything anyway)
turned off the windows fire wall and my router firewall
all ports that i can think it may require are open.
    tried both IE and firefox
    turned off all startup tasks

i really have no idea what has caused this. It only started happening today. Web browsing and everything else all still works fine.

    Thanks

are you running wireless? Its possible your connection is being dropped causing it to freeze up. Easiest thing is probably use something like getright so you can resume hthigns

Is it just one download that is not working? If it is there might be a problem with that server.

do you have that problem right after booting too?
because i'm having problems with my pc after a while (1 hour or sth like this)
it just won't download properly, but if I try it a short time after rebooting, it works...

I read that it has to do something with a virus, but my scanning - programs won't find it...

Another vote for getright. I have been using it daily for almost 10 years!
