    CAS latency discrepancy

I've just run CPU-Z and found that my Corsair TwinX 3200C2 (2-3-3-6) has SPD timings of 3-3-3-8!

So, I looked in the BIOS and the timings were set to AUTO which did indeed give 3-3-3-8. Surely it should default to the stated 2-3-3-6, shouldn't it?

Anyway, I overrode the CAS to 2 and booted into Windows XP Pro, ran CPU-Z again, which this time reported a CAS of 2 under the 'Memory' tab, but when I ran 'latency.exe', it still reported my latency as 3!

My mobo is the Asus A8N-SLi Premium.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can actually get this memory to run at CAS 2, as if it'll only run at CAS 3, I might as well have saved myself £60 and bought the Value RAM!

I've just looked at the Corsair site ( and it appears that I may have been sold some bogus memory...

    XMS3200 2048MB 2-3-3-6-1T 2x184 DIMM Platinum

    XMS3200 2048MB 3-3-3-8-1T 2x184 DIMM Platinum

The 'Void if removed' stickers clearly state 'C2', so I've sent a message to Scan and am now awaiting an answer.
