Replacing a character key on keyboard

A friend of mine (no really, not me just pretending) bought a nice looking laptop (widescreen and everything!) from PC World
The 'G' key fell off the other day, after about 5 months of normal use.
She took it in to PC world, they 'fixed' it but the key fell off again.
On the helpline, they said that they could issue a reference (which will take two days to issue by snail mail only) and then she could telephone a courier to arrange collection for pickup, with a 7 day turn-around. The laptop will therefore be out of her hands for +/- 10 days.

She is unhappy with this and just wants a new key put on, but I have no idea what to suggest other than voice her unhappiness at PC world, but let them do it. Any on-line retailers don't sell character keys to my knowledge, and even if they did it'd probably be a different size/colour etc.

    Any ideas are welcome.

Could she not get them to ship out a replacement keyboard? Failing that I think if it was that nice a lappy I'd bite the bullet and shell out for another keyboard myself (they'll prolly refuse to replace the entire keyboard stating that it's user damage, rather than faulty materials) - what make/model is it?

    It's a Packard Bell
I've recommended she go to Evesham next time.

Have you checked the PB website MSIC? You may well be able to purchase a replacement keyboard or even blag one for free from them...

She has emailed them to ask for them to just post out a single key. BTW it's a 'J', not a 'G' (just in case someone wanted to send me one anyway!). No reply yet.
I think it'll end up being couriered to them for replacement.

    Cheers anyway lads / ladies.
