    Random crashes/errors

    Hi,
Been having problems with my pc for a while, even rma'd my cpu to scan only to find it works flawlessly . When running super_pi i get 'non convergent IRQ' or similar, and after a while of playing worms 3d () i get a random BSOD, machine check exception springs to mind, nfs:u hangs, basically when the pc's under heavy load it brain farts. Memtest86+ ran fine for 16+ hours without error and ati tool finds no artifacts. Now i've had a new gfx card, mobo, cpu and mem so i'm thinking it's the psu. Has anyone else got any ideas tho before i buy a new one, if not is the seasonic 500w jobbie a good choice?

    PC Specs:
    X2 3800+
    2 gig o corsair valve
    abit an8 ultra
    Akasa 460 watt paxpower
    BFG 7800 gt OC 256
    2 HDD's (200gig sata & 80gig ide)
    DVD-RW

PS: I know noone locally with a powerful enough PSU to try in my machine!

    TIA

    Fidley

"Non-convergent IRQ" sounds like a set up error or a conflict, but odd that it only occurs with one app.

The failures under heavy processing load points to either CPU overheating or thge PSU shutting down on overheat/ PSU voltage dropping under heavy load. (Had a similar problem on a Linux box PSU when ripping CD's to MP3! Solved by improving airflow through the case.)

Side is off the case, and temps are well below problem temps.

Oh and sorry the error is an internal super-pi one which reads 'Not convergent in SQR05'. Sorry for the misleading post!

PS: I've tried setting all the mem latencies manually, as i've read that abit boards have problems with this, no joy!
