    Computer shut down during gamming

    Hey m8's,

During intense rounds out BF2, my computer will shut down all of a sudden, like someone pulled the power plug out. I suspect that my power supply is going bad, how can I tell if its giving under voltage to cause the shut down? Is there an sore of monitoring for why my computer is shutting donw?

Does it completely turn off or does it restart itself?

Not exactly the same symptoms as my issue, but you might want to check for udpated display drivers.

My issue was that infrequently during some games the system would lock up completly, with the screen frozen in the game and no key combination responding.
If I powered off the system and then put it back on again, the POST reported "no keyboard detected" - none of the USB ports were functional at all (both my mouse & keyboard are USB).

Tried powering off & on again a few times, leaving a good amount of time in between tests - same result.

At first I thought the system (brand new components, all) was screwed completely and I had fried something, but on a whim I flicked the rocker switch on the PSU off & on, then booted up the machine just fine.

I suspect the nForce4 chipset is a bit too smart for its own good - I obviously didn't have a hardware problem as the USB ports came back to life.

After this happened a few times, I downloaded the latest XP x64 nVidia Forceware drivers and the problem has not occurred since (touch wood).

Problem occurred in F.E.A.R., Quake 4 and Civilization 4 completely at random.
