    Odd White Lines

    Hello!

I occasionally get vertical white lines on my screen when rebooting.
    Like this
They only appear upon reboot, never after Windows has been running for a while. They are not there during POST, or the Windows splash screen. They run across both CRT monitors.
They do not move, or disappear of their own accord.
There is no slowdown, no extra CPU usage, and no other graphical issues.
I have directx 9.c and newish Omega drivers. (The newest you can get without SP2, which I don't want).
My graphics card shouldn't be too hot - it's cooled with a Zalman 700Cu and is a 9800 pro - so 7800GTX standard cooling should be more than enough.
    Any ideas?

    I've tried;
Opening the case up and using an additional 2 fans to keep the graphics card cool, it's not even warm to touch sometimes.
    Shouting louder,
    More swearing,
    Hitting it harder
    and
    Blu-tak.

    Anything else?

Leaving aside the fact that you shouldn't really run as administrator, except for administration tasks, I would guess that the graphics card isn't resetting properly on reboot, but I couldn't say why...

    Yep, fine!

I'm not running as administrator, I'm running as "Administrator " (note the space).
This is just because I couldn't think what name to use. So it's not actually my admin account.

Are they TFT monitors? If so, does re-phasing (or re-syncing) them solve the problem?

Nope, CRT. They are quite old though.

EDIT: Aaaaand, just thought, it won't be a monitor problem, because then it wouldn't show up on a printscreen. Would it?

Dohh! Good point... which comes back to the graphics card, and not resetting at a reboot ...

I had an almost identicle problem, except it was on TFT but like urs it showed up on print screeens, turned out my AGP slot was on its way out, I tested everything else with parts from another PC. In the end I had to replace the mobo, all other hardware is the same but I dont have any probs now
