Mass image resizing program?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask.. but Hexus Help have never let me down before so what the heck.

Basically, I've just got this new gmini 400 media player. And I want to store my photos on it, but they're all at a resolution of 1600x1280 or higher. This means the screen takes about 2 seconds to render each image at a time, and with a folder of 100+ pics that means a lot of waiting.

The screen resolution for the Gmini is something like 210x90 or something like that, so I want to be able to resize all my images to that size and in turn reduce loading times for when I'm viewing them. Is there anything out there that can do this? Hope that makes sense. Thanks in advance.

Either the windows power toy, or imagemagick's convert program (command line based, but pretty damn easy to use)

You can program photoshop CS2 to do it, or use a web photo album program such as Express Thumbnail Creator, to do a batch resize.

I've not used CS (Can't afford it) but if it is anything like the previous version, here is what you have to to.

Record a custom action where you resize an image either by a defined percentage (i have actions set up for 25% and 33%) or to a particular size. Then go to File/Automate/Batch select you custom action, the source folder and the desination folder along with any other options it presents you with and away you go

Infranview also has some good documentation on the matter which is what tends to help.
I find its one of those utilities you just need along with other essentials. Nice free and small. Ok its not the greatest most fully featured amazing top of the range all singing all dancing program, but you can shell out for photoshop if you want that.
