Pc problem

Hi all im new here, and ive recently built a new pc, and the other night everything was fine, just normal.
Now today i turn on the pc and it goes onto the XP loading screen (you know, with the lil blue bar) and it just stays on that for a couple of mins, it then eventually gets stuck. Has anyone ever had a problem like this?
People have said it may be to do with the hard drive because ive had problems with XP in the past (im pretty sure it's not that anyway).

I have tried safe mode, that works for some reason :S

I had a similar problem with a new build. I just removed everything USB like modem, keyboard printer and the computer started up fine and I have never had the problem again. I haven't a clue why or how the problem occured, just that it was something to do with the USB ports.
