Have an audigy 4 card pluged into an abit an8 ultra but cant get it recognised in device manager and i have no sound, tried reinstalling drivers but no joyany ideas?

Try disabling onboard sound in your BIOS.
Check that you aren't doing anything funny to your PCI channels in BIOS or device manager.
Try plugging it in again or try a different slot if the above doesn't work.
help needed having recently reinstalled windows xp using my recovery mesh disc . but have not got any sound,have been told by mesh that i need to reinstsll my sound drivers, but have been given the wrong information by them using a mesh pc serial matrix64 3000 fx

no option to disable the onboard sound so i unplugged the sound riser card will try and change pci slots tonight and its on a clean xp pro install:confused:
