    side panel resonating

I just got my new rig upgrade complete and I changed the case to a Gigabyte Aurora. Its all very nice but the damn side panel resonates like a mofo. Its louder than all 4 of my 120mm fans on at full speed :/

Anyone got some suggestions? Only slight work around atm is to open the front panel door which somehow reduces the resonating.

Work out where it is coming from. Isolate each component that makes any vibrations to find the problem.

To stop vibrations blu tack works quite fell to fix metal case sides in place.

    Whats Bitumen?

I thought it was the fans pulling too much air through the side vent but I think its the hard drives now. Will get some elastic to suspend them.

I have used those vinyl tiles you get for cheap at diy places. Quite heavy and sticky back. This basically adds mass to the panel (same was what bituman would do) and stops it vibrating/resonating. Tiles are very cheap as well.

Hi I use blutak/white tak to cure all sort of vibrations from fans attached this way to hard disk. Its really good at reducing bad vibs.

bitumen is a thick tile made of tarry stuff. basically what a lot of case silence kits consist of.

I have used these Noise Isolator Flex PADS to tackle vibration problems with great effect. Only costs £10 at Maplin.

Might have to fork out some more cash for a siliencing kit if suspending the hdds don't work. Just gotta find somewhere that sells clothing elastic or something similar...
