Nvidia GEforce 6200 Graphics Card

Hi,

Does anyone know the TV out format for the above graphics card? I am assuming it is an RGB output but not sure

Svid or composite i imagine, unless you get one of the ones desing specifically for use in HTPCs

Thanks for that. I have connected it to my TV but the picture is black and white

Any suggestions on the cause?

Is it set up in Svid mode? (connector like a ps2 keyboard) If so i think its something to do with pal/ntsc incompativility, i have no idea how to get round it though

Its usually a case of configuring the TV-out, there should be an option in display properties, or in the advanced menu, then the Geforce 6200 tab - it should give you options to adjust the TV properties. In there you can select the display modes (resolution and refresh rate) and probably (as I haven't currently got a TV connected to my 6800), the signalling type - NTSC or PAL.

Hi,

Am still struggling with this one. Whatever I do I still get a B&W picture on the TV. I have tried the following

1) Connected s-video to scart socket on tv

2) connected s-video to scart socket via an ntsc to pal converter

3) connected s-video to a scart adaptor which supports s-video and plugs into uhf socket on TV

So my theories of the PC giving an NTSC signal, or my TV not supporting s-video output don't seem to have fixed the issue.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Assuming that the TV/adaptors etc are designed to work with S-Video*: if the graphics card is set to output composite then the TV will only be seeing a composite signal on the luminance (brightness) channel, and nothing on the chrominance (colour) channel, hence the black and white picture. You need to set it in the drivers to output an S-Video signal.

*most TVs have a different icon for composite and S-Video inputs even when they're on the same scart; on mine it's -->2 and -->S respectively. Setting the wrong one always results in a black and white picture.

Have you tried a different cable? Sometimes it's the simplest things.....

My toshiba TV does this, and when changing between eg Playstation 2 and VHS player, i have to change in my options menu the 'Input 2' from s-video to something else (sorry, poor memory as i dont watch the VHS machine these days, but you get the point).

So, your TV card might be outputting perfectly, and the TV might be receiving properly, but not then displaying properly.
