Backing up Firefox
I'll reformat of my HD as soon as I build my new PC running so that I can do a fresh install of Windows XP (overdue anyway). But is there any way to export my current firefox settings/plugins etc.? I'd rather not have to go over it manually if it can be helped.

Yes
A good place for all items is in the application data folder for Mozilla you need to look in..
C:\Documents and Settings\...your...username...\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
there will be an obscure reference you need to copy the entire contents, into whatever the new profile is.
done
you may also need to make hidden files visible.

I've heard this question asked a lot, and everyone keeps saying you should backup folders as above.
Try this: http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/
Worked for me when I reformatted. It basically saves all the settings that you choose for which ever mozilla program you want into a file. That file can then be imported back into FF/TB etc later using the same program. Much easier than messing about with folders, and less margin for error :).

Excellent! Thanks!
I'll use mozbackup but backup the folder anyway, just in case :)
