    laptop will not turn on

Packard Bell EASYNOTE F7305 notebook will not turn on. Without the mains adaptor plugged in it does nothing when the mains adapter is plugged in it shows a low battery warning but does not show that it is being charged. The charger also appars to make a clicky noise and the led on the power lead flickers when connected to the notebook but does not flicker when disconnected. the laptop will not turn on at all no fans spin up the only thing it will do is show low battery led.

Can you power up the laptop without the battery in but the AC adapter in? How long have you had this laptop, and what did it charge upto? Sounds like the end of the life of battery.

sounds more like a loose connection.

Look he either needs to reurn it under warranty or open it up...

I suggest he does so looks for a loose connection immediately inside where the mains comes in. He would also be advised to put a multimeter set on volts across the battery. If the measurement is more than about 5% below the rating it's u/s! and will never re-charge succesfully.

Do not short even a dead battery!
