Soundcard Question

I have just bought an OEM version of the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy- SE 7.1.

I get the CD - but there is no cable and there is a white, 8 pin socket on the top right of the card.

Can anyone tell me what it is and whether or not I have to connect anything and to where on the MOBO should I have to?

Thats for the Joystick adaptor/livedrive all that kind of crap, it doesnt need plugging in.
