pc problem please help

last week i downloaded nero to burn some dvds the problem was the thing had a virus, so i got rid off it and unistalled nero. Then i tried to go on windows explorer the page loaded up then it would crash every time i did it. So then i installed f-secure 2006 which meant i had to delete zone alarm pro and windows antispyware then i had to restart windows which was fine but when it loaded back up, to put your password in the computer would automaticaly restart and does this all the time could somebody please help me

it restarts as soon as you login or does it give you a timer?
if it gives you a timer then you need to go to start ---> run ----> and type "shutdown -a".
Also you should be able to boot into safe mode, if you repeatedly press F8 just before you get the windows boot screen it will present you with a menu, go to safe mode and do a full scan

hi thanks for your replay i cant log in on the password screen it just keeps on restarting

Can you boot into safe mode? (hit F8 at splash screen)

i have tried it loads up some stuff then restarts and does exactly the same as before

Try using the recovery console as suggested?

cheers sorry if i sound a bit thick but this is very new to me but what is the recovery console all i have is the standard windows xp cd which i have already tried the repair bit on the cd

tbh it sounds like you have lost your computer :(, you might have to do a format... Could you try a boot AV scan? I'll try to get some links for you in a sec:

use the recovery console to delete the f-secure folder in my programs.

still struggling with this recovery thing i have got up to putting a command in but i dont know what command to put in i tried delete c:f-secure 2006 del, reboot but it asks for specific command so if any body can help on what specific command to delete f-secure file please. i have tried loads of times to repair but i still doesnt work

whenever you are trying to boot into windows are you connected to the net still?

There was a virus that runtime reboots your PC within 30 seconds of loggin i, Im trying to remember the name of it though...

Blaster ?

That was some nasty piece of kit. The fair few people I know, formatted and got hit again due to the hole in windows.

Took me days to clean them all for them, but it was fun and free beer :)

hi thier im not connected to the internet when im booting up and i cant use the worm removal tool becasue i cant get on the internet when using the pc i only get up to when the windows xp sign on load up then it reboots everytime

I suspect there's a problem with your registry hive, if you want to be able to boot into your machine follow the instructions provided at the below address.

This will allow the machine to boot, from there you may need to re-install certain programs and re-associate file types but you will gain access to all your files and avoid re-installing the operating system as a whole.
