Safely Remove Hard Drive?

recently i have noticed that there is an icon in the system tray that says safely remove hardware, i know this normally comes up when you insert a peice of hardware such as a usb pen, but i have noticed that my hard drive is being displayed in there? any ideas why this is occuring and how to solve this problem?

You're using SATA harddrives and these support hot-swap. You can replace your HDD without turning off your computer if you want.

Yea, i had that too when i used to have a Sata hard drive.

yes, don't use the nVidia storage drivers but the stock MS.

how can i unistall these drivers?, i cant find them?

if you go into Control Panel>add & remove> nVidia there should be several different drivers listed which you can individually select for removal.
You could also roll back in Device Manager.

Wouldn't it be better to keep the nVidia drivers since they'd probably give better performance than the standard windows ones?

And its not like windows would let you "stop" the system drive any way.

They don't seem to & they give some systems fits (whilst others can run them no problems).

Another option - if you dont want the hassle of dabbling in the correct drivers etc - is just to use the "Hide inactive Icons" option in the properties of the taskbar, then you can select which icons - ie. the Remove hardware one - you want to remove.

Not really a fix, more a workaround - depends on your problem - if its purely visual, then do this, else jsut do the option mentioned in the other posts.
