just reading your other posts about the sata cable...do you have another that you can try?...and if that doesnt help, take out one of your graphics cards and one of the sticks of ram and anything else thats not needed for booting like cd/dvdrom, sound card etc and see what happens then.

boot from the windows cd and do a fixboot. ive found this to work when my hard drive has been corrupted when ive been tinkering about with memory settings when overclocking.

yeah the recovery console...you need to go into the bios and make the cd the first boot device...

if the screen is going black and recovery console wont work, then may be time for a fresh install of windows.

(Having just your other thread): I could explain what NTDLR is, but somebody else already has: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTLDR. It's probably a better explanation anyway!

Easiest solution is to just try and reinstall Windows, even if only on a spare hard drive.

If you want, you can test your CPU using Memtest or Prime95 (you can stick memtest on a floppy, and both come on UBCD)

I'd check the health of that Maxtor hdd because I've always found them very tempormental. if you use the following link and then click on your hard disk family and download PowerMax. A word of warning though read the instructions very carefully as some tests can delete data of your hdd. So it might be an idea to use a Linux Live cd to backup your data if you haven't already done so.

Download PowerMax for Your Maxtor hdd
