Windows Hangs up on Startup

When I start up my computer it boots up to the point where I'm at the loading screen, then that will disappear off the screen and just when it normally would boot into windows it just sits there with a black screen. It will sit there like this for ~2-3 mins and then it boots right into windows and the computer runs perfectly normal, but this happens every single time I boot the computer. It doesn't matter whether its a restart or a cold boot same thing. The BIOS is set to boot from the primary hard drive first. I have not recently installed any hardware (or software that I can remember) that would make it behave this way. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

It's often a sign of driver conflict, something like 2 sound card devices (on board and PCI add-on), or that type of thing.

Try the free tool bootvis. It can solve some of these problems but also has a function that identifies where in the boot up process errors happen and what driver may be involved.

This sounds like you are running the nForce IDE drivers. Try uninstalling them and using the standard Windows ones. Worked a treat for me.

Using a personal firewall?
Due to their nature they can sometimes prevent system services from making outbound connections and cause them to have to time out.
If you have a personal firewall installed it might be worth checking the log to see if any process is getting blocked during the time of boot-up, or uninstall it temporarily to rule it out.

Well, I tried bootvis, but it doesn't work. I looked around and apparently bootvis has problems with SATA drives. I ran another program called BootLog XP and I got some interesting results:

Everything goes fine until it gets to cdfs.sys. Any input would be appreciated.

Do you have Daemon Tools or similar installed?
If so, try removing it temporarily to see if it is the cause of the delay.

i spot clonecd/clonedvd

I have both of those programs. I uninstalled them both, but nothing has changed. If they have done something to my computer, is there some way to reverse it? Would reloading cdfs.sys help?

EDIT: I've also tried uninstalling the DVDRW and reinstalling to see if that would have any effect on the drivers.
