Jack, when it comes up with 'Press any key to boot from CD', are you definitely pressing a recognised button, space bar, a letter, anything?
Is it recognising the key press? (I think the . . . scrolls along for 5 seconds or so before it goes on to try the next boot device, if this is still going after you've pressed, it doesn't seem to have registered the key press).
I think your boot order is set up correctly (it wouldn't be coming up with the Press Key prompt if it weren't...it would go straight to trying to boot from your HD.

The ntldr error is there because (AFAIK) it can't find it on your hard drive.
That's why it still happens when u remove the Optical drive.
See above post for my latest thoughts

Shouldn't do, if it's working in the Bios.
Have a look to see if the dots still scroll across once you press the key at the prompt...
If that is the problem, plug in a PS2 keyboard (might want to try anyway, no harm in doing so ).
If it doesn't work, I'll have another ponder.

I wondered that too, and that's why I didn't suggest it sooner ultimate (that and unfortunately the first picture was cropped, just before I could see whether there were any dots).

However jack, I'm pleased you've got it sorted jack, not least because I was scraping the bottom of the ideas barrel for solutions to your particular problem .

Hope you enjoy your new build matey.

    I'll send the invoice later
