the CPU is expensive, he Could get an intel dual core for that price.

The ram also is too expensive he could buy a 2 gig set for the same price. Considering its 2nd hand the price should be further down.

I did. Try not ripping your family off. £200 would be a fair price. £400 is just crazy

Remember second hand means exaclty that. Expect to get less than half what you paid for it.

I have to agree, if you look at my thread you will see how much I got for my stuff: http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=79394

I think you are charging new prices for some of that stuff, eg the ram and hdd. £230 is probably about right.

For one I am not trying to rip of my family and i resent that remark scrandman!
We both looked on ebay to check prices and when we found items similar or the same i
quoted a price wich was less than on ebay an he agreed only after totting it all up i thought it was a bit high thats why i asked on here

Secondly I paid more than double for all of them components so every thing is less than half price

£65 for a gig of XMS Pro £15 for a 80gig sata drive are not new prices

You sold all that gear as a full system if you would have split it you would have got more but you chose to sell as one to save hastle .

All my gear was boxed up like new nothing missing at all ready to sell on ebay.
My brother in laws comp died we spent six hours trying to find out what was wrong with it
he decided he wanted all my gear so he could get up and running as quickly as possible.
So we spent another six hours installing and trying to retrieve his data of his raid drives
I certianly do not want to rip him off but also i dont want to rip my self off either.

emul8... if you are after money (like it seems), split the system and sell it to someone non-family. get your brother in law to buy a cheaper system.

No offence emul8, but why did you make this thread if you're just going to disagree with everything that's been said? I think streetster's right though. Like you've said, on ebay the prices are higher so you will obviously make more money selling it there. You should also consider what your brother in law's going to use it for. Does he need 2gig of RAM for example?

If your brother in law is happy with the price, then it's okay.

If you think it's too high, then drop it a bit, but otherwise it seems fair.
