    PowerDVD v7 problem

Hi, small problem. I installed PowerDVD v7 and have had no problem for a while, suddenly, and without me noticing it plays dvds but gives no sound.
I have checked for what I think is obvious things and done a system restore to a previous time, have removed what I thought may have been conflicting programs etc. I cant say when it actually went tits up as I dont use it everyday. Any pointers would help but please try and keep them basic as Im not a budding Bill Gates( though wish I had his dough) and am probably an above average computer man though not an expert.
    All help is greatly appreciated---

    Anyone else suffered this fate?

look in the sound properties, check all that is set right, iirc you can change it away from the main soundcard, which would obviously bugger it. YOu didnt have a time limited trail of a dolby decoder or something installed did you?

Is it only when playing DVDs that you have no sound?

Hi, the sound is back, I installed another version, again a legit retail disc and it is ok, can an original disc be corrupt, is it just a glitch with version 7, have to use this as its the only one to support DTS and 5:1, it does seem ok at the mo.
#My thanks to you for all your help , it is greatly appreciated, if I get another problem with it we can perhaps confer further, kind regards..gravy.
