    Windows XP fails to install

    Hello everyone...

A hard disk of one PC i am working on crashed. I was able to view and backup some data on the hard disk although some of them have been corrupted, due likely to the crash. I tried to reinstall XP on the same disk but failed. Failure occurs during the copy of dll files to the drive. I tried to change my installer CD twice, same problem. tried to install on a new hard disk, same PC, still it failed.

My hard disk connects directly to the primary IDE slot and my CD connects to the secondary slot. Tried changing the IDE cables, repositioned the RAMs, installation still fails. I'll try installing using a different CD ROM and will try connecting the hard disk and CD to the board through 1 IDE cable, today --- hope this works... but I think am still missing something... Help, please...
