Mozilla Messed Up :(

Hey guys,

Last night my computer crashed and when i restarted i went into Mozilla firefox and noticed that all my bookmarks and fast links are now gone. I cant find them anywhere

Please someone help me

Ive had this problem before, iirc there is no fix. Google holds the key!

Do a search for "bookmarks.html" in your firefox folder in program files just to be sure

I found it but there is no sign of my bookmarks. Looks like ill go back to IE7 now. least it has never deleted over 200 of my bookmarks before. ****!!

Ok now im really miffed. I am trying to make bookmarks in firefox but it wont let me. I dont know why. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but it still wont let me.

You need to empty your application data fikder, thats usually where the foul up is. Just the mozilla folder not the whole thing

It's a hidden folder in douments and settings > username > application data > mozilla. There will also be a folder in there called bookmark backups

If you want your search engines back go up one from the bookmarks backup and delete localstore.rdf. The update corrupts this file and deleting in seems to fix the problem

This was a very poor update :|, and took me a while to find out how to fix it.

anyone had any probs with another memory leak with FF?? it updated itself the other day and it seems to be leaking for me again

Nasty problem hits my brothers computer occasionally, 1st time couldn't restore the backups then the 2nd time it happened found the backup file lurking around

Not sure all versions seem to leak a lot; some people say it is due to the way Firefox caches pages but IE never has the problem and can hold more pages in its back/forward memory

But I hate the spyware and c*** IE can throw up
