    Setup:

    Intel Core 2 Duo
    2GB DDR RAM
    Geforce 7800GT
    Asus P5wD2-E Premium
    480W Thermaltake Purepower (20pin, 4 Pin ATX)

Plugged the bear minimum in, mobolight comes on, everything powers on (CPU heatsink Fan, Graphics fan) no post boot, no beeps.

Tried different graphics card, same result. I have a feeling its the Power Supply, but don't have a 24pin/8pin to try out. The manual says that a 20pin/4pin should work so long as its 400W.

Any ideas before I run around screaming?

I'd suspect either the RAM or the CPU if there are no beeps at all. Check both these items to make sure they are installed correctly. If it still doesn't work then remove the mobo from the case, lie it on something non conductive, plug it in and see it now posts.

Don't think using the antistat bag is a good idea, depends on the type but they by the very nature of their use tend to be conductive. Place the mobo on the box that it came in.

a new bios went up today, supporting core 2 duo

the bios revision was announced a while back, allowing retailers to say that this board is compatible with core 2 duo processors, although a bios update is required. unfortunately, theres no way to flash the BIOS without having a cpu in the slot, so unless u can find someone with an older 775 processor, you wont be able to update the BIOS using the conroe

Yeah, I just checked and was about to post the above, checked the Scan site and can't find any references to CPUs supported.
