Raid arrays

If I were to have a HD config like this:

80 SATA for boot drive
2*400 in raid

If I upgrade to a new motherboard, I presume I'd have to rebuild the raid array - thus losing any info on it?

So long as they are data disks and you continue to use them in teh same configuration then your data will be ok.

Depends on if raid 0 or 1. If 0 obviously have to build in same configuration, if 1 well do what you like.

Simply yes. As you have a sep boot disk I can see no problems.

I'd not be 100% sure of that tbh. The way the motherboard SATA RAID drivers work, and the mixing of the two, from old to new, you MIGHT have a problem. I'd not risk it if it were myself. Going from one single SATA controller on one board, to another...doddle. But the way RAID's are setup, I don't think the standards are the same
