Hi all once again

my friend asked me to ask

can you fit another type of cooler to a Radeon X1900XTX to make it less noisy, also a cooler fan thingy quite as possible to a core 2 duo processer

yes, look at Zalman & Arctic Cooling VGA coolers for starters (of course so doing will invalidate your gfx card warranty).

& there are plenty of quiet HSFs for the LGA775 socket

I would be careful....

I am currently RMAing my second X1900XTX.......the first one worked fine for months, then I fitted the Zalman cooler to it. It lasted a couple of weeks after fitting it.

The replacement I then used for 1 day fine and then fitted the Zalman, it lasted a few hours.


Maybe I got 2 duff cards but I doubt it. I don't think I will fit a Zalman to my next replacement....
