Please recommend an AVI splitting tool

    Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good splitting tool for avis files (mpeg would be a bonus).

Something that could allow multiples splits and then smply spit them out into individual files is whould be great. I was using VirtualDub but i kepe having audio\video synch problems.

    Thanks

There are a few freebies on the net. 'avi splitter' or 'mpeg splitter' will get you something.

Alternatively, the Nero Burning Rom suite has video editing / splitting facilties built in.

    As does Windows Movie Maker.

have you looked at VirtaulDub Mod or NanDub?

I think they handle audio and video sync better, especially with VBR MP3 tracks (That's what usually cause the problems)

Thanks for that, the only AVI Splitters I had previously found to be any good were paid for versions.

there's one called scenalyzer which splits DVI-Avi's (from your camcorder) into scenes, based on timestamps. I think they still have their last freeware version on their website as well, which has done me fine. Google it and see what you get.
