    cmos settings wrong heelp!

hi. i have an old msi k8t neo mobo that wouldn't accept my mobile chip so i flashed bios to latest version but now although it says new bios version (2.2) it will only boot once saying cmos error press f1 to enter setup press f2 to continue with defaults. if i press f2 it will boot eventually once but next restart/boot it will hang on the early chipset initialisation. if u enter set up even if i don't change anything when i leave it will hang @ early chipset initialisation. it will only boot again with the cmos clear jumper being used but then i'm still stuck in the same perpetual loop! after desperately tinkering i've borked said mobo (totally dead) so i bought another off of ebay &...... u guessed it same problem. is it something i'm doing? is it a common fault or am i unlucky? any suggestions would be appreciated . rich.

Is there an optimal settings in the bios after you press F1? Try that and see if it boots.

As BigBry says, enter bios and set optimised defaults/failsafe defaults or similar or failing that set the multiplier and fsb for your cpu instead of leaving it on auto.
