Choosing an SDCard?

Hi all,

Just wondering for a digital camcorder like this one should I get a card with fast read/write such as "1Gb Corsair Secure Digital (SD) Superfast 133x" or one "designed" for low power usage in cameras etc. such as 1Gb Corsair Secure Digital, 40x, For use with Digital Cameras, PDAs & MP3 players.

I would think that the slower specifically designed SD card would be more appropiate. Unless your also going to be using the card for a camera as well.

40x is fine for basic snaps and 5mp video at what 30FPS? I'd look at getting the 133x if it was to be used in a DSLR camera as well or if you don't care about losing a bit of battery life on your video camera and want the best.

Well, I'm going to be using the camcorder as a camera too.

How much battery life do you think it actually saves? Trying to work out whether the drop in performance is actually worth a few more minutes of battery life

If it was me, I'd future proof myself. And to be honest, I would think you would use up your SD card before your battery ran out and taking spares is pretty simple.

I'd get the corsair stuff.

Well the camcorder is rechargable, so I can just charge it up

They're both Corsair btw, but I guess you mean the faster one

edit: though you never know, the camcorder is a budget one, I bet it can't even read/write that fast itself lol.
