Need help with XP install on SATA.

I need help installing XP on a SATA hard drive. I also don’t have a floppy drive. Will I need a floppy in order for the system to recognise the SATA drive? I have a motherboard (ASROCK Conroe esata2) support CD. How do I go abouts setting the SATA so I can then load windows XP?

Also, does anyone know of any tools I can use to check my cpu, board and graphics card temps?

    Thank you

do a search for neowins guide to making a intergrated XP CD, you can add the sata drivers on the XP install to work around the lack of floppy..

or go spend a fiver on a floppy like i did as i couldnt be arsed using xplite to make a new cd..

Just as an aside - nlite is great for integrating loadsa drivers into your Windows XP install. Can be used to create an unattended install too.

I really doubt you'll need extra drivers if you are installing a single SATA drive, you need additional drivers normally when you are installing a RAID system and want to use an onboard RAID controller (the drivers for which would normally be on your mobo disk anyway). Not everything works as expected though

There should be a SATA port or two that will work in the installation without a floppy, check the motherboard manual it should say in there
