System boots but no display

Turned computer off one night, woke up and turned it back on, only power flickered on for a second then all power went. took sides off, cleaned all dust, realised graphics card fan had melted off and wires were detached. put the power cable plug into another socket, and the computer turned on but didnt boot, no display on screen (obviously). then turned computer off and back on and again, power flickered on then off again. today i bought a new graphics card and put it into my system, and the same problem still faces me. the computer irregularly turns on but with no display, or wont turn on at all. how can i tell where the problem is and what can i do?

lol mid post the computer changed to your computer... but I would be looking at replacing the motherboard since it has probably melted the AGP/PCIE slot that the graphics card was in if the graphics card itself had melted.

ok, u could be right as the new card makes no diff, lol ,hes going to snap

pc, was working all day yesterday flawlessly, put new psu in and gfx card in. restarted a few times and was fine. Turned on today and power flicked on for a second and turned off, so i turned psu off and unplugged from bk and replugged in and it would now stay on but not boot, no screen....

Really not sure wot to do
