    modem help?

someone i know has just gone with f2s and they said that they charge 30 quid for a modem so he said no thanks as he has some from his old isp.
but the only way to install these is by the tiscali installation cd, which is not right obviously.
so what can he do? does he have to buy a router? because i dont understand how he will enter his f2s details in order to get on the net without some kind of instalation cd like the tiscali one thats basically a wizard, sorry if im being stupid i just done get it

it says on the website for the modem i have that i need some breed of installation cd.....

most isps modem are either sourced from a third part company or rebadged, if you found out the make and model of the modem im sure someone will be able to find you some drivers and if its a speedtouch will have a connection program included.

just uninstall all your old isp stuff, unplug the modem install http://www.speedtouch.co.uk/download...20Extended.zip
    these drivers

once the installs done the will be a connections icon on your desktop run that fill in username and password. bobs your uncle
