SATA problem with Abit A89

Okay, so I just built my brand new computer and it's not letting me install windows, it keeps giving me that Stop: 00000007B error whenever it gets to the starting Windows phase. When I go into BIOS it says that SATA is enable, but my harddrive isn't registering as a SATA drive, currently it says I don't have a harddrive. I've never had this experience before, and after spending over 2,400 dollars on hardware, I'm getting aggrivated. So anyone have any suggestions? I know my Abit CD has drivers on it, and my Maxter CD also has drivers, should I just copy the Abit Drivers to a floppy?

presumably you are installing Windows from a CD/DVD?
If so have you used F6 to install the JMicron drivers for the PATA drive?

have you asked on the abit-USA forum for some help (more AB9 users there)?

You need to press F6 at the start of install to install the SATA drivers. And, yes, they would need to be on a floppy.

I don't actually think the board will allow a single drive to run in SATA mode even if it is SATA, you may need to have two or more of the same drive in a RAID array for them to run in SATA.

Try setting the drive as IDE (or enhanced IDE on some Abit boards) and try again. Also ensure oyu have the correct boot order set.
