    NX6600GT - Fan has dropped off !!!

I was wondering if anyone else has had any problems with the fans on the MSI Geforce NX6600 graphics cards ? Just recently- the fans stopped rotating on mine (which I hadn't noticed given the relative noise in my office) and the next thing I knew my machine started crashing sporadically- so, I checked inside the machine to see what was going on, and what do I find- only the fan from the graphics card hanging off !!! I checked a few other community forums and they suggested this is due to the sleeve bearing mechanism degrading over time, the fan grinds to a halt, the card continues to heat up with no additional cooling being applied and eventually the fan just melts off.

I would be interested if anyone has had a similar experience with this, or any other graphics card and how you went abour resolving this with the retailer.

I would just stick an Artic Cooler on it, about £15 for the 6600, much quieter and better performing than the stock cooler, piss easy to attach as well

Appreciate your response- in hindsight, I would have done that, unfortunately- Scan.co.uk have now got the cards and they're holding them until I sign a disclaimer saying that they can send the cards back to MSI ... I've bought a replacement graphics card now, a 7600GS with Heatsink cooler, no more fan worries for me
