    ECS Laptop Screen problems

    Hi,

My sister has a ECS G732 Laptop which is fairly mashed right now but still moving along (dang it needs a new keyboard!).

    P4 2.4Ghz
    512mb RAM
    40GB HD
    15" Screen *i think*

Anyways, if you rotate the screen towords/away from you once the laptop is on, depending on angle the screen sometimes just goes blank. All fans etc are running but screen turns off. Also hitting the power button does nothing, to reset it once in that state you need to pull the battery out.

I've rechecked all cables and the ribbon cable is tightly in place, but problem still occurs. Not really major if you dont adjust the angle of the screen, but can be annoying if you want to! Any ideas?

Looks like you have a bad connection or a broken wire in the ribbon cable to the screen, if you can wriggle the ribbon cable whilst the screen is on might prove it.
