    Battlefield2 problem..?

Ok, whilst playing bf2 after awhile i will lose game sound and then after i keep on playing with out any sound for awhile say 5-10 mins my screen freezes complete forcing me to restart.

I have ruled out the following: my memory as i have ran memtest86. Overheating - nothing exceeds over 55c , so it won't be overheating either. I have installed latest drivers and dx also so, not that.. Help?

    my Spec

    Motherboard Name Epox EP-4PLM(I)
    Company Name EPoX Europe B.V.
    Realtek ac97 sound
    1GB ram
    graphics card 7800gs agp
    power supply 500w blue storm

sounds like overheating issues to me. have you got good case ventilation, just because your temp monitors show no problems, it doesnt mean the soundcard isnt overheating, or some other componant.

if you have a room fan, take the side of the case off and point it in there and have another go.

I had major trouble with the AC97 onboard sound before I switched to a Creative X-Fi.

Make sure your sound is set to software, hardware sound isn't compatable with AC97.

Either the card is on it's way out or somerthing is too heavily overclocked.

Try reseating the card, often fixes things.

Corruption like that usually means the graphics memory is playing up. Maybe time for an RMA?

thats what i was gonna suggest, you usually see that sort of corruption from overheating or god forbid! faulty hardware!!!

RMA - Return Material Authorization, basically returning the card because it is (or, may be faulty)

And yes, reseating just means taking it out - perhaps lightly blowing over the AGP slot and contacts to get any contamination off them - and seating it in again.
